During a game, you can shift the entire playing board in any direction.  Marbles shifted off the edge of the board will wrap around to the opposite side.

Be aware that shifting the board will probably cause more problems than it solves.  Diagonals which used to be fine may end up with duplicate marbles after shifting.  (Don’t panic; you can always shift the board back to the way it was.)
